My Story

I’d describe myself as a master recycler, junk collector, and vintage car afficionado.  My story begins in the 80s as a struggling Hollywood actor trying to make a living.  I started going through the dumpsters of Beverly hills looking for items to resell to earn some extra cash.  I’d find clothes, shoes, furniture, appliances, and I’d fix them.  I sometimes went into burned out or abandoned buildings and pull out whatever that looked interesting or unusual.  The dirtier and rustier the better.  Over time collecting and restoring vintage items became my passion. It became a lifestyle long before “vintage” was fashionable.

From the time I was a teenager, I’ve driven old cars and motorcycles.  I’d buy them for a few hundred bucks, work on them, and keep them for a few years until I found another project more interesting. By 2011, I was running out of room for my cars and I needed to rent out a warehouse.  It was about this time that I decided to start a restoration business.  For our first full restoration, I drove to Bakersfield and bought a 1972 VW Carmen Ghia. Honestly, we probably should have left it in the junk yard, but we learned a lot and had a lot of fun.

A subsequent project was restoring a 1964 Chevy pickup truck like the one I drove in high school.  The truck was a low rider, with a supe’d-up Corvette motor.  After months of painstaking detail, we restored it to its original condition, right down to its transmission, engine and interior.  Afterwards came a dozen of other projects: a Corvair, Lotus, VW beetle, Carman Ghia, Triumph, etc.

My favorite thing to do is to take one of our vintage cars on a cross-country roadtrip.  Twice we’ve taken the Lincoln Highway from San Francisco’s Golden Gate to New York’s Times Square and back again. Sitting behind the wheel of a vintage car, the world moves a lot slower. You get to see things at the pace it was intended and you have the time to stop and make discoveries along the way.

After six years in business, we’ve learned that there is a wide range of craftmanship in the automobile restoration industry.  Our mission is to close that gap and provide the highest caliber of restoration work that not only looks great, but is reliable too. We look for cars that have intrinsic value in both design and rarity.  And we assume responsibility for carefully restoring these vehicles to their fullest potential.  Our goal is to find thoughtful owners who appreciate the value and the history of a classic car.
